Who we are

Established in 2001, in the heart of historic Bartow in Central Florida, the Cookie Jar Bakeshop is centrally located on the corner of Main Street and Wilson Avenue just steps from the Court House. Our city corner café offers clientele a convenient place to break away for freshly made breakfasts, made to order lunches, scrumptious treats, or specialty beverages.

Owner, Maura Galbraith brings a wealth of talent, enthusiasm and experience to the cookie and cake business.

Maura grew up in Ireland and spent seven years in France and Italy before coming to the United States in 1991. Since then, she worked as a manager in the retail food industry for over ten years. Maura began working at the Cookie Jar Bakeshop in 2007, developing such passion for the Cookie Jar Bakeshop that she acquired it in early summer of 2009. It is these experiences that inspire Maura every day to deliver exceptional food and superior customer service.

Maura’s European experience heightened her love and appreciation for the creation and enjoyment of great food. From the patisseries and cafés of Paris and Florence, Maura gained tremendous understanding of the café culture. In those great urban centers Maura observed and experienced the central role of the café in the life of the community.

Maura’s recent experience in the US retail food service industry provided her with a thorough understanding of product development, food service sanitation, management, and importance of high customer service standards.

From corporate events to anniversaries; from baby showers to community events; from sporting events to business meetings, Maura and her staff produce exceptional cookies, cakes and more!
